Over the past 30 years, Main Street organizations have transformed the way communities think about the revitalization and management of their downtowns and neighborhood commercial districts.  Cities and towns across the nation have come to see that a prosperous, sustainable community is only as healthy as its core.  
 
The Historic Marion Revitalization Association (HMRA) hopes to empower residents and business owners with the knowledge, skills, tools and organizational structure necessary to revitalize our downtown, neighborhood commercial districts and city into vibrant centers of commerce and community.
 
HMRA is dedicated to the enhancement and preservation of sustainable growth in Marion’s historic downtown area. A non-profit organization, HMRA was formed in 1995 and still today is committed to sponsoring programs and activities which fulfill the following purposes: 

1) grow Marion’s business and retail base 
2) cultivate tourism to revitalize downtown 
3) support overall city improvement initiatives 
4) create, manage and support promotional events.
 
It is the last goal for which we need your support! Historic Marion Revitalization Association needs partners in order to develop and manage successful promotional events. The quality and amount of events we host each year depends upon the community support as well as partnership with HMRA and the City of Marion.
